Anyone who comes into a pub is a potential customer. They don't buy ~ they don't stay  evil:

With the exception of the lass from the Sally Army who sells
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

In my London days I was plagued by doorknocking evangelists.

In the end I kept their literature.

When the JWs knocked I said "You must read the Book of Mormon, the truth lies therein".

When the Mormons knocked I pressed the Watchtower upon them.

All visits stopped. They have a database!

The Korean Evangelists came round and I gave them a Buddhist text

They get confused! Rather like my MiL.And Mrs Nick's Aunt, who is some sort of secular nun and is quite poisonous!

When I ran a real pub I always allowed the Sally Army to sell their War Cry .... mainly out of admiration (genuine) for the old and not so old ladies and girls who bravely go into even the roughest pubs on a Friday night to sell them. It is surprising how the roughest and toughest trouble makers will meekly moderate their language and dig out a quid for them. I have only ever seen them refused once ~ and that was by a woman.

This is Nick's world, the best thing to do is just smile and nod  whistle:
