The government has signalled (confused2:) that by 2012 entry to swimming pools could be free for all.

Why wait? if the plan is a healthier population do it tomorrow, not 4 years hence.

There will of course be no "Government" money to finance this "initiative" (which Kellogs have been running for two months by the way ~ see back of Cornflakes Packs for Free Swimming Vouchers) so the cost will fall on the Council Tax Payers as those who actually fund the pools and their staff the length and breadth of the kingdom, ie local councils will plead poverty AGAIN  cussing:

They know they will be kicked out in two years - in four years they can complain that the Conservatives haven't introduced free swimming 'like wot we were going to'.  noooo:
