Are you suggesting that measuring someone while they are kneeling is a legitimate form of measurement?

Our council (same one as Wenchy) supplies them as well.

However they have stopped their "free" garden waste collection and now want you to cough up £35 for their plastic sacks which they will empty once a fortnight. They will only empty their sacks, so now lots of people will be driving to the dumps - very green!

So far there have not been many takers with many angry letters in the local papers.

In sunny Cyprus the binmen come twice a week and take EVERYTHING!!!  Even stuff not in the bin.... and you can leave the bin out the day before or have the lid ajar! cloud9:

It's such a joy after the ridiculous UK system.  Not that I wish to rub it in or anyfink. 8)

Just wait until the European Regs get to work on your sunny island.  eveilgrin:

Sigh!! ::)  I know, but they're gonna have a struggle with Mr Cypriot and his wife let me tell you.  They don't like change. It was very recent that the main form of transport stopped being donkeys.  Some of that charm is still here!
Have you got any water?  shrugs:

erm... no cuts yet!  Also have 3 bore holes but I'm sure it will happen.

So you've no water?  I wondered what the pong emanating from the Pissouri direction was.

You shrink with age don't you?  Snoops used to be 7 foot!

Funny enough I was 6ft when I was in the RAF ..... some years later I was measured for a medical and they said 5'11" .... Last month, at the local hospital, they measured me as 6ft. I questioned this as my GP says I have a "crumbling" back so they took me to another room and measured me against a different wooden thingy fixed to the wall and that said 6ft as well. So either I AM 6ft or the man who fixes measuring sticks to the walls in Glan Clwyd Hospital has a dodgy tape measure.

As far as I can work out this thread is about the distance from the floor to Mrs TG's  eyes:
