Filler Cap
« on: June 17, 2008, 03:56:56 PM »
Just listening to something on Forces Radio...

They reckon that in your car, if the fuel gage has a little petrol pump icon... the side of the filler pump thing on the icon indicates on which side of your car the filler cap is...

Mine's a circular dial, with the pump icon just left of centre. That would mean the filler cap is on the near side. And guess what?

It is!  eeek:

My Pajero has the little pump thing on the right and a little arrow pointing right (i'd never noticed that before)... and the filler is on the right!  eeek:

However, my truck has the little pump thing on the right (no arrow) and the filler is on the near side...  sad24:

D'you drive on the left or the right? And are your cars l/h or r/h drive? And would that make near side and offside different?

We drive on the left (mostly) like the UK and both cars have the steering wheel on the right, like...

I know I would but for insufficient transferable sources of income and SWMBO worrying about education for the sprogs and not being on hand when the end arrives for her aging mother.

My car just drinks petrol faster than I can drink Young's. It cares not which side the filler cap is, although it is on the nearside, whereas the almost telepathic indicator is opposite.

I'm a bit late in getting to this thread. They were discussing this on the radio down here a couple of months ago. IIRC, Peugeots differ from most cars
