So dinner tomorrow night is round the world night at the pub:   Cyprus

Extensive research of this thread suggests chef Mike should be involved. Any predictions?

Cyprus doesn't do veggie.....  noooo:
Well this was the Cyprus meal

Not shown are the plum in filo pastry pud, the ouzo and the Filfar orange liqueur.

On the topic of "does Cyprus do veggie?" Opinions varied. Rachel and Neil wot run the pub and regularly go there say yes but her dad who owns the place there says "not really, you can usually get some veggie dishes and salads and of course Halloumi, you won't starve but"

So on that BM you were mostly right

Anyway it were a cracking meal tonight.

They said you eat chips with just about every meal.    I could survive a fair while on grilled Halloumi, salid and chips

That Filfar desert liqueur from Cyprus is something too

Filfar is normally given to the chick free after the meal...geezers get brandy,,,,, Thumbs:

they also eat alot of pulses.......but not many places sell it.....just at Cypriot homes or if Miss T cooks it......falgi ? fasoulia....etc....and some stuffed vine leafs are meat free..

Ta

we get stuffed vine leaves when we go to another pub near here that's own by Greek Cypriots.  There are only so many stuffed vine leaves one can eat in life and i think I've had my quota.

Rachel and Neil were actually out in Smugland last week and had brilliant tans, they did say it was a bit bereft of tourists though.  We'll have to go some time (CWMBO permitting) so if one day you see a PM saying we are in a pub near you with Red Cross parcels of Twiglets and PG Tips then it won't be a wind up.
