DS's comment sparks memories; we had two Ghanaians at school (60's), each from powerful, influential but opposing families. In other words when one's family was in power the other's was keeping a low profile. One once showed me a family photo; it was rather like the school photo with a hundred odd family members...

A posse of them once attended a school sports day; all I can remember is a flurry of tribal costume as the Ghanaians swooped down on the strawberry teas. They were uncommonly loud to boot.
