This morning I had a huge egg and bacon banjo from the van in the lay-by, with brown sauce   

Tonight was home made scorchio chilli on a bed of Uncle Ben's ping rice with tortillas and stuff

Apart from having to wear googles to cut up an onion - how can you cut one up without crying  (the onion that is - I never cry when I cut anything else up  )

I was chopping one last night and hadn't got on waterproof mascara - looked like Amy Winehouse

There's an old tale that having the kitchen tap running while cutting an onion prevents tears. It seems to work... but then a running tap can affect you in other ways

A running tap eh  - I shall try it but have to say am quite sceptical - as well as being on a water meter

A gentle flow should be sufficient; of course you do need to be quite close to it     Don't think that a running tap in the bathroom would work

The Lodger and I made a cottage pie last night. Mrs Nick has announced she is cooking tonight.

SHe intends to curry it (the cottage pie leftovers)
