Big dinner party here tomorrow, like. 8 coming. ONE is vegetarian  evil:

I said I would do normal food for most of us and something like a fish for her.

Mrs Nick said, 'No. Do veggie for all'

I selected a mushroom stroganoff and have thusly orderd (i hope  scared2:) 2 kilos of mushrooms from Tesco.

Told Mrs Nick.

'What if people don't like mushrooms?'

 Angry9: Angry9: Angry9:

Well they can fook off to the chipshop then, can't they?  cussing: cussing: cussing:

A popular misconception has crept in here. The problem with the fish theory is that MOST vegetarians do not eat fish either. It is not the taste of meat that they dislike it is the idea of eating the flesh of a once living creature and fish falls into that category. So Fish instead of met because someone is a vegetarian is a silly idea unless you "clear" it with the person concerned.

I usually solve the problem with a mushroom and butternut squash risotto. Quick, simple and 2 kilos of mushrooms will be plenty for 8 persons (and save a few to fry with tomorrow's bacon and egg brekky)

We know her well. She eats fish. OK?

If you only tell half the story don't sound so aggrieved that others don't know how to answer.  ::)

On Wednesdays and Fridays a chap turns up in the high street with a van full of "fresh fish from Hastings". Today I bought some haddock and mackerel. The whole lot has been scoffed  cloud9:

His fish is very good.
