It is not the taste of meat that they dislike it is the idea of eating the flesh of a once living creature and fish falls into that category. So Fish instead of met because someone is a vegetarian is a silly idea unless you "clear" it with the person concerned.I usually solve the problem with a mushroom and butternut squash risotto. Quick, simple and 2 kilos of mushrooms will be plenty for 8 persons (and save a few to fry with tomorrow's bacon and egg brekky)

On Wednesdays and Fridays a chap turns up in the high street with a van full of "fresh fish from Hastings". Today I bought some haddock and mackerel. The whole lot has been scoffed
