Naval Slang ~ Sausages .... expression made famous by (I think) Stanley Baker in "The Cruel Sea". Anywhoo the actor played the part of a nasty piece of work who was "Number One" on a ship and every morning greeted the wardroom breakfast with the words "Snorkers - Goodo!" which heartily annoyed the other, more junior, officers. He got his comeuppance in the end, much to everyones pleasure.

Name of film and actor are from memory and it is many years since I saw it ~ anyone else remember it? Either the film/acor combo or the expression.

Jack Hawkins prolly looked better in a duffel coat whilst sipping Cocoa.
Mills suited the white roll neck sweater.

Actually when you think about it Star Trek followed much the same story lines. Scotsman for an engineer battling to keep the ship performing to the Captain's demands. Captain firm but fair if prone to moments of self doubt. Number one who actually knew everything.
Someone who always dropped a spanner at the wrong moment "Rig for silent running" etc

Actually if you think about it Snoop, from Nick's perspective Trek probably IS a documentary. After all we've all worked out he is from another planet.  whistle:
The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.
