If asked I would have done so (bought or made, whichever) but since she decided that she was "in charge" of the arrangements she can take the consequences of her actions (or lack of them). No sympathy will be shown by me I can assure you but I may be prepared to accept an apology if it is coupled with an acceptance, by her,  that she doesn't actually know everything....... whistle:

Exactly ~ I never expected her to remember the cake, in fact I would have wagered a tidy sum that she would forget it, which is why I decided to mention it at the most telling moment.
Hopefully she may learn something from this experience but I doubt it and, like Mrs Nick, she will continue to put herself in charge of things and fail to accomplish them.
