The new kitchen knife, 8" steel, which is in the draining basket alongside the sink starts to move with the vibrations... it loses balance, falls, steel handle first into the destructor... the whirring blades try to bite on the handle but in a second reject it... the knife flies out, spinning in mid air... narrowly missing my arms... I've seen Kung Fu movies like this! I lurch for the electric switch in case it falls back into the jaws of hell and repeats its deadly ballet... power off, the blades slow down as the knife clatters and bounces onto the work surface.
