Obviously ~ everyone knows that eggs are laid by cows .. Why else would Tesco insist on keeping them in the aisle clearly marked "DAIRY PRODUCTS"?

Really? At ours they are kept with the sugar. rubschin:

Our local Sainsbury started doing that a couple of years ago on the grounds that they were "Cookery Products" like sugar and flour which does make some sort of sense. Meanwhile Sultanas  sick2: are kept with "Fruit" though I am hard put to think of another use for sultanas other than baking them in a cake along with flour and eggs and sugar.

Asda still, so Mrs S#2 tells me, still put them in "Dairy"

I think things in supermarkets should just be shelved randomly, like. It would enhance our diet and help us create new and unusual recipes. You could just do all your weekly shop from one aisle and then try to figure out what you can make with it. Let's see

Eggs
Sultanas
Yogurt
Buns
Mayonnaise
Jam
COffee
Plums
etc.
