I was going to have some pub grub tonight. Drove up to Worcester to meet my son as arranged...and he's forgot and gone out.  cussing:

So...back to the H/A, and get a Kebab from the man in the van in the layby  cloud9: and a bottle of red from Bargain Booze and watching Road Wars cloud9:

I have a son like that...we fell out and I've not seen him since 1992...he'll be 35 now. I've kept a discreet eye on him though. He's doing alright. There are two grandchildren though that I've never met

Thought that you were staying in bed for the duration Miss  D, actually were you not supposed to be counting bit's of paper today or was that all part of a very strange dream of mine?
I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.

Just call it an "All Day Breakfast" ~ Little Chef have been getting away with it for years.

I spotted Ian Peglar (Lt Chef Chief executive) at one of his "restaurants" two weeks ago. I asked if he'd be interested in a bit of honest feedback. Just like in the "Big Chef Meets Little chef" programme he did with Heston Blumentaal, he knew it all, couldn't be told anything, just wanted to talk about what he'd done in the past when he was the big cheese with Happy Eater etc. He pointed to two hanging baskets by the entrance and said, "look at those, you've never seen hanging baskets outside a Little Chef before". I told him to turn around and said, "look at that rat, I've seen dozens of them here before. He said he'd get somebody to ring me and discuss it further... still waiting

Nick: You should get out more ~ try asking the natives these questions.

Neeps are Turnips or swedes, mashed with butter, salt and pepper.

Heavy is one of a range of brews. Think of it as Bitter rather than IPA which is "Light"

Most English Bitters are in fact IPA ~ Heavy is a darker and more flavoursome beer ~ not to everyone's taste. If you have ever tried one of those Guest ales known as "Winter Warmers" in your local ~ that is more like "Heavy".

But as you are a wine drinker don't let it bother you. The Scots really are most hospitable ~ just different.

The last time I set foot in a Scottish pub (last week) I got accused of being English by a load of tattooed ginger nutters
