If you did that with a live chicken you could save the faff of stirring. The chicken would just run about amongst the vegetables like

You may have spotted the fatal flaw. Anyhoo, I have cleared all the blood off the bathroom walls now, so I can get back to my Corned Beef hash  cloud9:
