Chicken, salad and new potatoes, then spent till a few minutes ago finishing off a couple of beers. It's one of those nights when I could sit out/sleep out there all night. The bedroom is too hot by far

You are right ~ The THW sat on the edge of the "event" looking mutinous and complaining that there was nothing for her.
My encouragement that she should help herself at the large salad bowl, the freshly made bread rolls and the vegetable kebabs over which her mother had spent considerable effort met with a filthy look and a storming off to her bedroom. Her mother followed her, much raised voices then the sound of a face being slapped. Mother then reappeared complaining that her hand hurt but that the satisfaction gained had been worth the pain.
