Spag Bol

AGAIN!  eeek:

The small boys have a very limited range of foods that they will eat. As they get older they are becoming more adventurous but after all the roasts etc of the past week we asked what they wanted and they said "Spag Bol" ............ Of course the THW who is now vegetarian but has previously eaten anything put in front of her is now so f*cking picky feeding her is impossible. I don't mind vegetarianism out of conviction BUT if the vegetarian will not eat beans (of any sort), tomatoes, most kinds of potato (roast, chipped, baked), hates "greens" but wants to be supplied with nutritious, tasty and varied meals that exclude any of the listed items, any meat or fish it gets a little wearing.  evil:

Sooooooo What does she like is she prepared to eat?
Couscous, pasta (without tomato sauce), rice without curry or sweet n sour sauce, mushrooms (but not quorn), bread n butter, some cheese but not all cheeses, chips if they are certified not to have been fried in animal fat, and seemingly very little else BUT she is prepared to carp and moan about the restricted choice we are able to place before her ~ tho' unable to supply any information about alternatives. My suggestion that we just let her "help herself" whilst we stop cooking for her altogether was met with horror by her mother. I won that battle but only for three days when she ate 4 avacados, two packets of pasta, and 500 grms of couscous ~ SWWLTBO then drew the line. Personally I'd let her go hungry  eveilgrin:

Mealtimes should not be a battle once your kids get past about 5 years of age. In this house the battles are getting worse the older they get. Having been raised to eat whatever is placed in front of me whether I like it or not I always leave an empty plate. I cannot comprehend why anyone wouldn't. Like something or not I'll eat it out of politeness to the cook (and fear of the wooden spoon wielded by mother).

Fvcking kids don't know when they are well off. cussing:

She will eat them because ................. wait for it ....................... "hens eggs as bought in shops have not been fertilised therefore no life is lost".

Her mother stopped me from commenting that to obtain milk you first have to let the cow calve, then you remove and eat the calf leaving the lactating mother to provide your milk for about a 12 month until you need to introduce the bull and have him impregnate the cow again and repeat the cycle.

eveilgrin: But I promise you ... much more of her shite and she will get the FULL facts, not just the ones she wishes to use.

We have just feasted on roast duck, new pots, various veg followed by rhubarb crumble and cream then cheese. Drank Champagne with the duck and port with the cheese. Best meal of the holiday. Since none of the kids like champagne I have been forced to drink half a bottle ~ not much by some standards but for me that is a lot. Two glasses of port seemed a good idea but the walls are now looking a bit wonky. I shall go for a nap.
