Yesterday was, at the Birthday Boy's request, a picnic, on a steam train, in the wilds of Snowdonia. This was to be followed in the evening by a BBQ (again at his request) in the garden and I was to cook a large half leg of mutton. (THW was making her own veggie arrangements) As we got back from the rail trip far later than his planning had allowed and since both Minor and Minimus were curled up asleep in the back of the LandRover it was decided that I should BBQ last night's intended dinner for lunch today. It is pissio here so the BBQ is happening in the kitchen. Thank the Lord for a fan oven and a George Foreman Grill. Leg o Mutton is cooking slowly in the oven and will be transferred to the Foreman thingy over a handfull of oak chippings for its final half hour.
Then tomorrow and Sunday we will be attending the local Airshow so more picnic food or KFC I suppose..............Most look out my RAF socks and Veteran's Badge.

I can report that the Mutton was wonderful!

Pastis note the link PM'd previously. This was their 5 year old Blackface mutton.

I normally hate sheep meat (Lamb) but this is completely different. I begin to understand why mutton was so popular with S Pepys Esq and his friends.

I also opened a bottle of champagne (scandalous at lunchtime) and they went down very well together.

I had some lovely pork loin chops in the fridge...

I cooked them with some Thai spice and served with new potatoes and peas which I boiled up with some mint...

It was ghastly... What was I thinking....? Shrugs:

You can fook off too

Why?
Who else is fooking off?

Well anyway, if that's your attitude, you can also fook off too too. Finger:

Good that. Never had an opprtunity or reason to say too too before. Sweet. cloud9:
