I got some chicken thighs this morning, covered them in flour and my special blend of herbs and spices and bunged them on the BBQ - most delicious!  cloud9:

No blancmange...  noooo:

Mum used to serve it as a "treat". I ate it once a week for 15 years ~ never again.

She had a "bunny" shaped mould (mold?)

.... I always got the tail end! Scarred me for life I reckon.

My mother had the same thing, she would do jelly in hers, blancmange was for Christmas only, thank heavens. it is a food of ultimate wrongness even for girlie food fights IMHO.  lime flavored Angel Delight is another matter.

I've got one of those in my dresser, haven't used it for a few years thinking about it but it was always red jelly rabbit sat on green jelly grass.

Tonight anyway... leek and potato soup, salmon poached in white wine, cheesecake... and nobody asked if I wanted coffee... rubschin:  Did I leave too early?

Am I the only one here that doesn't like Fray Bentos pies?

Chippies down here alll do puff pastry pies, you can't get a decent shortcrust one for love nor money. Give me a shortcrust pie anyday.

Preferably homemade
