Tempted, but it would negate the 90 hard minutes spent at the gym this afternoon
FFS Jom...forget the gym...and giving up the fags and the booze...you wont live any longer...it'll just feel like it...
[serious mode] At 18st 11lb I was massively overweight, I knew this, and was finally given the yellow card by the Dr's about lifestyle and diet when my blood sugar had rocketed and was indicating that I was heading towards diabetes. That was two to three months ago and I'm now 17st 5lb, still massively overweight, but moving in the right direction. I've not set myself a final target, but at the back of my mind I know that six years ago I was 15st 7lb and felt good. That is likely to be my long term target, but so long as my weight is going in the right direction I'm happy
As for the fags, as somebody that literally spent half his childhood in hospital with chronic asthma I have never smoked except for two occasions, the first time was aged 14, my lung collapsed
, the second time was aged 18 when I was pissed and had a cigar, that resulted in three weeks off work. My "drinking days" finished many moons ago, but I still have a drink two or three times a week, sometimes at home, sometimes out with a meal, mainly in "proper" pubs. Last night
I was here for a while being served mild through the hatch (not a euphamism) at my second favourite pub.
(I will visit that Royal Oak(?) place you go to one day when I'm out that way, looks nice and traditional)
I still eat pretty much the same things as before, portions are smaller, and I have substantially reduced my intake of spuds, stopped having sarnies at lunchtime (now salads and fruit) but still pay a rare visit to the breakfast carvery, and Saturday morning isn't complete without a double sausage McMuffin (not another euphamism)
So, all things in moderation is working, but the gym is being done often at the moment for good reasons [/serious mode off]
Have a doughnut on me
