Once upon a time (well it was ~1980) I was but a young engineer and being street wise I made sure I got on well with the production office.  In there worked an overly ambitious and intellectually challenged planner I will call P.  He thought he was so wise.  He did have one thing (or rather two things) going for him in that his wife was the equally dim but superbly formed receptionist (lets call her J) with the most superb pair of assets and a rather nice line in thin clothing.

One day P decides to tell all about his supposed worldly ways knowledge.  He starts explaining to all in the office in his condescending way that "women don't fart".  He explained this for a minute and then suddenly said "but cats do, they're terrible at it!"

People were almost dying laughing at the image of Mr and Mrs P relaxing after maybe a cabbage and brocolli meal, J letting an evil one go and immediately blaming poor Tiddles.  "The Cat is Innocent OK" notes were clearly needed.

Been waiting 30 odd years to tell that story.
