Dinner tonight will be interesting. A local restaurant is doing a Vegan/Veggie special evening, the menus look good (no really) and we thought why not.

Two risks have come to mind  scared2:

- not every veggie is as well mannered, cultured, erudite and articulate as wot me and Mrs K is*.  I have to admit some are as strange as you can get with only one head

- Mixing Vegans and Vegetarians in the same place can be like the Judean People's Front meeting the  People's Front of Judea.  Blood could get spilled which would be a bit like fatal irony

And worst of all it's my bleeding turn to drive  Banghead

Well it was all very good, six courses and a stunningly good bottle of Malbec

No fights and a riveting floor show with two Brits and their American guests with all trying to out trump each other.

"when I was doing my masters in Budapest" was responded to with someone dribbling about where they did their doctorate and somehow I managed not to talk out loud about when I had to retake my English O level in Sidcup

Then they moved on to boast about their friends, one of whom we were all told can apparently speak 5 languages and only a stare from Mrs K prevented me talking about how we have a cat that can vomit in Japanese

Why are some people so sad?
Well, whatever, nevermind

I'm not that much of a wine drinker but I've found that Malbecs are very quaffable  Thumbs:

It's a pity there weren't a couple more of us there Steve, I'd love to see how they would have reacted to an impromptu 4 yorkshiremen routine during their boasting...  whistle:

Just 10 years ago you could get seriously good Malbecs for under £2.  Not no more  noooo:

I don't rate the French ones too much, got to be the South American ones.  Mrs K gets through gallons of the stuff a year.
Well, whatever, nevermind

I think its a case of Malbecs becoming fashionable now, I'd recommend El Monstrou which was the one I tried today, it's from the Mendoza region of Argentina and is something I could easily see me going through a bottle of over an afternoon.
