I am now going to make a massive pasty as per the hairy bikers.  scared2:

Sounds a bit like the Calzone Berek mentioned. I had a Calzone once; it stretched from one side of the plate to the other and then some  eeek:

We reckoned it contained a small herd of wildebeast  ;)

Tonight, as autumn draws in, it's bangers from the farmers market, last minute final discount cheapskate prices, pork & sundried tomato, spud & parsnip mash with lashings of spanish onion gravy...
Like the Buddhist said to the hot dog vendor...

Cauliflower Cheese, home made bread and butter from the local creamery. All local and very fresh (see yesterday's thread about food costs in the Commons) Boys had sausages as they do not like cheese sauce.

Must be the night for bangers. I've just had bangers, mash, carrots and purple sprouting broccoli with gravy

I must give TG's leek, potato and smokey bacon recipe a try, I do leek, potato and smoked haddock soup. Wonderful flavour, particularly on the cold days that'll soon be with us

Snoopy's Creamed Leeks

Prepare a couple of leeks by stripping and discarding the outer leaves. Slice the clean stalks into rounds and then push the rounds through to create "rings". Sweat the leek rings in a little olive oil, do not allow them to colour at all, just soften them. They should be bright green. Add a tablespoon of plain flour to create a roux, continue to cook and stir for a couple of minutes to "cook" the flour then slowly add quarter pint of double cream, stirring continuously. Use a little milk if necessary ~ if the cream sauce looks too thick. Serve immediately as an accompaniment to almost any meat dish.
Serves several depending on how big your serving spoon is. whistle:

Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

Hope you remembered to buy the batteries as well. Nothing worse than a new toy and no batteries.  whistle:
