Since the closest he could get by air, commercially, would be Gatwick I am still struggling to understand the logic of flying. Perhaps one of his rich connections has a private plane.

That's given me a yearning for fish 'n' chips tonight, which I haven't had for ages, from the chippy I mean.

Will a £20 cover it these days?  evil:

Should do if you go easy on the house wine  ;)

Fish n chips locally between £3.50 and £5 a person.
Portion of chips usually around £1 - £1.20. Piece of Cod or Haddock about £2.50 to £3.00.
Mushy peas 60p

The prices at the poncey one down the road are predictably about twice yours  ::) with minted mushy peas coming in at 2 quid a pot  eeek:

In the other direction there's a Greek, innit, whose prices are only about 10 - 20% up on yours. He's always had good traffic as well which is a good sign. Might look in this evening  rubschin:

Oh, and the wine, well, from my own cellar, bin, shelf  ;)

£6 for cod!  eeek: eeek: eeek:

£5.15 for a huge codpiece piece of cod and a mountain of chips from the chippy in Newbury last week.

He was not keen on my idea of turnip in batter as a winter special though.

All this is proof, if proof were really needed, that living in North Wales is, economically at least, a sensible option.

That's South Wales ~ They don't eat seaweed up here and all our chip shops are run by Turks. ::)
