Dull as ditchwater here, yet again.
'Lashings of' forecast yet again.
I officially now name this summer as, GOOSED.
Still Auugust to come. May I suggest you move south? We've had plenty of sunnio days.
TBF you have a point UM. Growler and I both
(Nick has his own micro climate of course
)
live on the west coast so we are bound to have more rain. FFS Manchester is only just up the road and we all know their reputation for wet weather.
I have lived on three of the UK's coasts and also right in the middle (about as far from the sea as you can get).
In summary:
West Coast = Wetter but in general warmer
East Coast = Drier but windy and colder
Middle Bit = Not so good. Lots of fog. Snow and water shortages.
South Coast = (Specifically Southampton which benefits from the shelter provided by the IoW) Warm, sometimes windy in winter, generally drier. Seldom sees snow
Worst place = Swindon where it never seemed to stop raining. A constant drizzle. My ex swore that she could never get a line of washing dried in a day winter or summer.
