Total whiteout - all the main roads in the area are starting to clog as cars (generally Mercs) struggle to get up the slightest gradient. It will be chaos by the evening.

My driveway is on a slope. I went out OK earlier but I can't get back in. Car is parked in the road  noooo:

A brief respite and now it is bucketing down again. The same National Express coach has been outside the pub for 15 minutes now. Not moved an inch.

It's been gridlocked down here all morning - bridge seems to be blocked, either by traffic or the workers.
Now the schools are closing early.
