Lots of footage on telly this morning of gritters being loaded, stranded motorists, roads blocked, runways being cleared this morning etc
Our forecast...
FRIDAY: Dry with sunny periods for most of the day. Becoming cloudier through the evening with showers then more
persistent rain spreading from the west overnight. Winds increasing in association with with rain. This rain will continue
into Saturday morning.
Chilly overnight.SATURDAY: Generally unsettled with outbreaks of rain continuing, some of which will be heavy.
Chance of some sleet or
snow before it becomes dry on Sunday morning.SUNDAY/MONDAY: Sunday should be dry and rather cloudy and it should stay dry overnight with a few breaks in the
cloud.
Further rain, perhaps preceded by sleet and snow, will spread from the west or northwest on Monday and it will
become windy again.
TUESDAY TO SUNDAY: Most likely staying cold, dry and fairly settled with
widespread frost. Freezing fog patches likely to form during the overnight periods and may linger through the day.
A risk of snow showers at times.
A risk towards the end of the period of cloud and rain, preceded by a spell of snow, arriving from the west, but confidence in this is currently low.
