Been a smashing day here too. Pub Lunch in the pub garden with lil bruvver then back to his place to do some more talking and a bit of DIYing (I held the ladder).
SWWLTBO has taken the boys out with their metal detectors into a local quarry. Minimus has added to his bottle top collection (OK he is only eight) and they both found some interesting bits and pieces; which has pleased them. Horseshoe nails and such like that I was able to identify for them.
The particular quarry (we have several in the area) is known to have been in use in Roman times so they have a fair chance of finding stuff there and when you are nearly 11 and 8 then anything older than 20 years is an antique!

Expect a downpour tomorrow. In 8 years it has never been dry here for the annual PTA event AKA The Duck Race! (Plastic ducks on the local river) and fete. It always p*sses down  ::)

I was in Somerset today walking the dog.

First we went to Kilve beach, by the The Hood Arms

Then we went to Luxborough, by the Royal Oak

Then we finished off at Tarr Steps, by the Tarr Farm Inn

Nice day, but got sunburnt on the forehead and now have eyes like panda. cool14:

I know Kilve beach very well  - not far at all from my mum's  eeek: eeek: eeek:

As for the sunburn poor you..... there is never an occassion when panda eyes are a good look. For me it's normally when I go to sleep without taking my mascara off   noooo:

Strange how you don't mention the churches you passed on your walk ~ just the pubs ~ which I assume didn't get passed.

The great thing about these particular pubs is that dogs are welcome. I could't say about the churches rubschin:

Kilve was packed today. I'm usually the only one there! Tarr Steps was the same. Dog dropped her ball in the water and I got a 'bootie' getting it out.

Spent all day in the garden in shorts and a bikini top. Am burnt to a frazzle.  noooo: I never learn.  noooo:


It shall piss down here too tomorrow, is the annual village day fete, again not been dry for that since we've lived here and for long before that apparently!
