Yes because a stuck pig is usually dead.

Pig sticking was a popular method of hunting wild pigs during the "colonial days" when Lancers would ride after the wild boar and attempt to spear them with their lances. My grandfather was apparently, by his own record, quite adept at this sport. A modern derivation of this skill can be seen when the Lancers show off at the Royal Tattoo and pick up rope quoites with their lances whilst at full gallop.

This model shows the method quite dramatically

The sun is shining, quite a bit of blue sky, a few clouds, quite a breeze blowing, and showers are forecast. What are the odds that it'll piss down at lunch-time

Weather Forecasters are spot on today. Grey, overcast, windy and wet ~ a thoroughly unseasonal day. I wonder what happened to the long, hot, harvest days of my childhood. I didn't imagine them, photos exist to prove that the August days really were sunny with bees buzzing in the hedgerows, farmers harvesting corn and small boys playing in the streams to keep cool.

I think Cyprus must have got most of it free when they joined the EU - I'm still sweating like a stuck pig here...  whistle:

It was so hot this morning when I took the dog for a walk at 9am I had to carry the poor thing halfway home...  noooo:

Surprisingly sunny. It became very overcast at lunchime, but that seems to have passed. The clouds are racing by, though, so doubtless monsoon soon.
