No but when the washing machine stops she will have a lot of wet washing and assuming the rain is still falling nowhere to dry it ~ don't tell me you have a tumble dryer, living on a Mediterranean Island

Nothing to do with poverty ~ it was our choice. When the last one packed up (About 10 years ago) SWMBO said she didn't want another because in her opinion they ruined clothes.
She, because of allergies, (hers and childrens) will not use fabric "conditioners" nor biological washing powders. Air drying clothes gives them a soft feel and fresh smell anyway.
TBH I hate being near people who smell of Washing Powder or Comfort ~ that doesn't smell clean to me, it smells of cover-up.
I will confess that not owning a tumble dryer does ease the trauma of the electricity bills too.
