I can't see any blue sky from here.

Use your imagination man!

There's always blue sky over the pub. ;)

There was no blue sky where I've been today. noooo:
Just fog, lashings of rain all day long, hurricanes (nearly) mud, mud and more mud, sheer 500ft drops with no fencing, deep forests, oodles of coffee and butties, super company, loads of laughs and tit freezing temperatures, and do you know summat, it was GREAT! cloud9:

 ;D Excellent!  happy088

I KNEW you'd appreciate my post.
I bet you could almost smell the hot mud, baking on the exhaust, and the fine aromour of rotting damp wood. leaves. and pine trees, gently wafting in through the car.
Absolute heaven, and no 'after bash' headaches here.  cloud9:

You'd have been in your element yesterday BM.  happy088

Christ on a bike, it was wonderfully wild up there yesterday. The rain came down in massive swooping sheets, and looked just like fog it was that heavy.  cloud9:

I appreciate you can't really 'feel' the enjoyment from it, and that this is literally only a few feet of this particular route. I'll pst some piccies later p'raps....not of me mind. noooo:
There IS more to life than getting bladdered you know. ::)

On the weather forecast last night, they stated that there would be a respite in this constant and never ending deluge, and today would generally be a dry day with a bit of sunshine. at last. cloud9:

It's grey dismal and pissing down here...AGAIN.  Banghead

Tomorrow doesn't bode well either. They've promised more 'lashings of', so it'll possibly be..... rubschin:  crackin' the flags?   ::)

I know, it's absolutely devastating up there. I do really feel for them, all those business's that are now completely goosed, and at their busiest time too.
90 mile trip instead of 2 to get to werk!!!  noooo:

Did you see that poor lad who's had all his 'A' level course work destroyed by the floods. Totally mind numbing. eeek:

I'm supposed to be off up there a week Thursday. It may be cancelled now, but that is just a mere inconvience tbh. Phone calls later this week will confirm or otherwise.

And once the media spotlight is off that area I hope that the commitments to reconstruct these bridges and those insurance companies who are  pledging to rebuild or assist in the recovery of homes and businesses  all do so promptly and are all not held up by bureaucratic nonsense  - but I have to say you have little faith in this.

There was someone on the news  this morning who had decided they were not going to get insurance this year as they needed to save the money and effectively keep their business going  - they have lost absolutely everything  noooo:

However Gordon has been up there and has spoken to some of the people affected, shaking his head and putting on his sincere face, which makes it almost OK Charles and Cammila will be up there soon soothing the people. I am lucky and have not been affected by this but if I were the last thing that I would want is any of them rocking up. eveilgrin:
