I have just read that the primary school opposite is closed.

Can't see why - the road is clear, council gritted the pavement outside school (what's the point if it's closed?).

It would appear that about 80% of the schools in the borough are closed - it's ridiclus.

Teachers living in outlying villages seems to be the main reason for closures here too. That and the desire to save on heating costs. School bus operators have said that some roads are not safe so they cannot guarantee to pick up from the villages and farms.  Meanwhile the schools don't want half attendance as there is no point in teaching half a class only to have to go back over the lessons next week when all return.
Whatever they do they can't win, meanwhile the boys are continuing with home education unaffected by the weather and the THW is doing her work by email. The Geology Teacher is at home and has already set up a net of his A level students on line. They are all working away happily from their various laptops and pcs. Good for you and bloody well done Mr North  happy088

His wife (Dr North) teaches science and has come on line to tell those taking their first Physics A level paper next Tuesday that she will be running a e revision class this afternoon.


Best two teachers in  the school.
