What do I do then ey?

Nice and simple does it like.

Just above the box where you type in your reply there is a field that says "Add image to post"
Click on it
The left hand of the four tabs says image, ensure this one is active
Click "Browse", this will map to somewhere on your PC
Find your documents folder or whereever your photo is
Click on the photo to highlight it
Press "Open"
Assuming it's a family safe one, click inside the Small box by "family safe"
Press "Upload"
it should return you to the text area and the link to it should be there, just press preview to make sure it's there

I poured hot water on the step to melt the ice  I had overlooked the famous Mpembo effect

I must admit to starting a similar endeavour on Wednesday Night to make the first few steps to school for young uns a tad less treatc treach slippy.  Unfortunately the step is a downwards slope to the pavement and the boiling water was always going to turn the snow on the 'outer extremes' to ice.

14 kettles and 20 pans of water later and we were clear, I then had to add snow back down to the outer edges and compact to make it consistent with the rest of the pavement.

Salt down, all good.

Unfortunately our guttering empties onto the clear bit of path, mini ice rink...
