Yes but for domestic fires you work in thirds as a full cord gives logs that are too long.
We use about as much as in the picture over the year.

I guess you were thinking few sticks from the park?

There was a channel that showed a roaring log fire after the programmes had finished, but I thought that was a sky channel

I guess that would make sense with two log fires over the year. TBH I have no idea how much Her over the other side of t'park uses. I think a log fire might have to be a priority when the time comes to move out of the metropolis  rubschin:

We have an indoor coal shed that we use for logs. It is room height, 3'6" wide and 6' deep. We fill that each month during the winter to supply logs to both rooms without having to go outside. We keep a stock, built up over the year outside. Top up deliveries from our supplier monthly during Nov, Dec, Jan and Feb..... or as he has decent wood available.
Wood costs me about £500 pa. Oil for the central heating comes in at about £1200pa. It is cheaper to heat the rooms in use, using fires, during the day rather than the whole house which has 12 rooms plus hall,landing and stairs.
