Weather fine ... but ...

There's a fair / festival over in the park all afternoon; lots of peculiar stalls, strange food, face painting, stilt walkers, all manner of oddities and lots of efnic drumming now  ::)  evil:
We're into the last hour now and it rumbles on even with all the windows shut tight  noooo:  I should have gone away for the afternoon  surrender:

Lovely here... mahoosive fire in the hills with three or four helicopters collecting water from the dam up the road and dumping it on the flames... who needs Blu-Ray?

No, they rent two mahoosive Russian helicopters with contra-rotating blades for the fire season each year. They carry mahoosive buckets underneath them and scoop up water from the closest source (dam or sea). If the fire is really bad they can call on two or three Griffons from the British bases too...



It is pretty spectacular to see them flying low overhead dripping water on you!
