I had a card from my Daughter (The older one). She had signed it from herself and her husband.
When I called to say thanks I pointed out gently that he is not my son and I am not his father.
I personally feel the same should apply to step-parents.
As I explained to said daughter, she doesn't send my wife a "Mothers Day Card" so why should her husband feel the need to send me a Fathers Day one?
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

Exactly - although I can see why you would if you were sending it to someone that had been involved in raising you as a child. However My stepfather has only been around for the last 15 years of my life - I have never lived with him and he has never influenced my life in any way.

Don't get me wrong he is a lovely bloke and makes mum very happy - but I have never sent a Fathers Day card in my life and won't start now because she feels 'it would be nice'

For fathers day I have driven to Wandsworth Common (at 6 am...) Then driven to Brighton, then driven back - Mrs TMR (bb)'s dad did the cycle ride. It took him 3 1/2 hours - not bad for a 62 year old!

Now I drink Young's.

It was always good weather for that bike ride. Except for the year when we had the hail storm, obviously.

Tis quite pleasant at the moment, maybe a bit humid.

Off to Sutton, for the "Raising the Flag" event, 10:30, something the Mayor is attending - don't think I've ever seen this mayor.

Seems to be linked to Armed Forces Day which is at the end of the week. Not quite sure what this is all about except the British legion will be there and so will my dad, as part the the Royal Navy Assoc.

I am expecting that dad and his cronies will take advantage of a local watering not long after the event.
