8 weeks pay then for Redundancy + Any accrued holiday pay for this holiday year + money in lieu of notice (depends on contracted terms)

Yep. Pretty much four months salary. So if the worst happens I shan't be destitute till just after Christmas I reckon.

Register at Job Centre before you go on holiday ~ they will take delight in telling you that you will get nothing until you have spent your redundancy, holiday and cash in lieu but at least they will start the time of unemployment from the minute you register and not when the money runs out. They will never back date a claim so best to get in there first.

You will get JSA for 6 months but you will have to tell them about any holiday.

Visit this site first. http://www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/jcp/index.html

You have to telephone or register on the web before you can go to the Jobcentre. They will tell you which Jobcentre to attend.

I'm jealous. On the plus side, I've just noticed that the lottery ticket I purchased in mongtown has given me 4 numbers. ?71, splendid, I may buy a house up here.
