I would hazard a guess that the association of tits and mother's warmth and comfort to be found there when we are young would explain that but hey! I didn't invent the expression, I only use it.
Same as "Hotter then hell's gate hinges" and sundry other phrases passed down from generation to generation..

Just looked out of the window and there it is - white fluffy stuff.

I was speaking with Yasmin (the bar-maid) last night - she has never seen snow.

Her excitement will be overflowing.
