They've got some sort of inner lining.
They got wet and when I stuffed me fingers in, they got all tangled up in the mush that was once the lining. It's hopeless. Can't straighten them out.

No ................ but I think I know a similar tale .... Minor has a red thermal 'at that he wears everywhere. He calls it "Meyat 'at" ~ his mother is forever trying to throw it away but he rescues it each time, he has been known to wear it to bed.  ::)
