Ahem! It was chaos. Mrs JOM left work at 1500hr's for her usual 15 minute journey. She got home 1950hr's 

I tried to leave work right up to 0140hr's to join the last seven miles of a 30+ mile queue, gave up and returned to the office. Finally went home at 0315hr's after sleeping on the office floor and town had hundreds of vehicles abandoned, nearside, offside, on roundabouts, island, verges, most eerie

Ours were clear, it was town that was stuffed, 3 x major routes were closed, "Southern" style of driving is everyman for himself, so nobody lets anybody out onto roundabouts, junctions... result =  total gridlock
