BBC said the Snake Pass was blocked yesterday morning but the Woodhead Pass was open. Not heard anything today.

I went over the 'Woodhead' for the very first time in October last year.
I thought then ...just how bleak desolated isolated and downright dangerous could this place actually be in the dead of a stormy freezing snowy winters night ey? scared2:

Daughter number two reports 3" of snow in Macclesfield, Cheshire and still falling. Grand-daughter is loving every minute of it  cloud9:

Lovely part of the werld that JOM. Must get out into the 'Peaks' a bit more. Mainly unchartered territory for me that.
Are all the usual 'passes' blocked and closed?
Now that is waht a proper wintery area is like.  eveilgrin:
Bloody proper proper bleak up there on days like these.  happy088

She lives just below the Cat and fiddle route, gorgeous area. My second favourite "driving" road. Favourite one is Beulah to Tregaron road in Wales, every corner, every twist and turn, every hill reveals the most amazing scenery, four pics from my last visit that just don't do it credit to be honest

Nice pics JOM ~ I like the Tregaron area. Had a couple of holidays there with Mrs S#1 and kids way back when.
Went fishing in a "mountain top" pond we found by following a very lonely road that went up and up and up. Yes I did catch a fish, a very small carp, tho' Lord knows how it got there.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.
