Big fat pigeon hit me van on the way home. I did actually cack meself when it happened. The bang was horrendous! 
I hit a pheasant last year. It wasn't on the road to start with, like. It was perched on a six foot wall on the nearside of the road and when I was about two cars lengths away from it, it jumped into the road front of me. I didn't even have time to brake. I reckon it was suicide...
Strange that, but possibly true I wonder.
I've come across pigeons and rabbits that almost seem to be inviting a quick death by just hanging around in the middle of the road sometimes.
I've even stopped waitng for them to move, but no, they just seem to be saying
"come on, I've really had enough of this labour government"
