Sorry ~ I was forgetting you have your holiday camp to run as well.

All those chalets to clean between guests and then there's the evening meals, the caberet etc. I don't know how you do it.

The weather... like... you put washing out and it rains, you bring it in and the hot, burning sun shines. Banghead   Banghead

Dull as ditchwater yet again, windy and quite nippy.

Are we ever going to see a nice warm sunny day up 'ere again this so called summer I wonder.
4 weeks of it, and that was seemingly our quota in the dismal north.
Piggin' autumn in just 5 weeks. cry:

Join the mass evacuation of the frozen north ~ you know it makes sense.

We have been discussing this at the Kennel and it seems to us that the last 5 summers have been pretty shite. I would go further and say that we haven't seen a proper July/August "old fashioned" summer since we moved here in 2001. The conclusion reached was that we will wait until the THW is off to Uni (let her finish her sixth form etc) and then sell up and move back south where, without doubt, we will enjoy better, warmer and dryer weather during the Summer months. We are not the only ones thinking of moving south ~ the bearded one is doing it too.

In short it is time I went home ~ It is calling me and I don't want to leave it too late.

As a sort of PS to the previous
Quote
July 2010

July saw the largely settled, static weather patterns of spring and early summer replaced by a more changeable Atlantic type. This airstream was relatively warm but often cloudy. Whilst the north-western half of the UK saw more rainfall than in recent months, the south-eastern half remained drier than average with many warm days. There was a west-east gradient in mean temperature, ranging from close to average in much of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and western England to over 2.0 °C above average in East Anglia. July saw over twice the normal rainfall in a broad swathe from west Wales through north-west England, southern and eastern Scotland to Shetland. It was also wetter than normal across most of the rest of Scotland and Wales, and in Northern Ireland. In sharp contrast, much of the Midlands, eastern and southern England were very dry with less than half the normal amount in counties from Cambridgeshire to Sussex. Overall, it was duller than average, especially in many western areas. The only places with more sunshine than normal were those towards the east coast and in the Northern Isles.

A maximum temperature of 31.7 °C was recorded at Gravesend (Kent) on 9th. A minimum temperature of - 0.1 °C was recorded at Kinbrace (Highland) early on 23rd. In the 24 hours ending at 0900 on 15th, 74 mm of rainfall was recorded at Auchincruive (Ayrshire). A wind gust of 84 mph was recorded at Aberdaron (Gwynedd) on 16th.

Taken from http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/uk/

Now I don't much trust their forecasts but even they have to get the history right and it proves without doubt that the South and East had better weather during July than the North West and North Wales.

Wouldn't want to live darn sarth tbh. noooo:

I't's not so much the cooleness that gets me down, as i can't stand baking heat, it's the constant 'ditchwater' sky, wind and seemingly never ending rain that is so damned depressing. ::)
