Sod the waterwings, if it's owt like here (torrential rain and blowing a hooley, whatever that is), take a canoe, or better still, you'll do the course in ten minutes if you do it kite-surfing-stylee

Miss D doesn't do luck ..it was cloudy most of the morning until about ten to 11 when it started raining for a few hours. The race started at 11 noooo:

The ground was so soaked by yesterdays monsoon that I look like I have been visiting some sort of mud bath  noooo:

The only promising thing was that the race organisers sent an early warning out to entrants to be careful of wet and muddy conditions but also of frisky stags on the course  cloud9:

Again ...lucked out ...apparently it is deer mating season  noooo:
