Pure class. The 463 bus has been stuck outside for about 10 minutes. The driver got out, locked up came in the pub for a slash and then necked a small brandy before getting back in the bus. Top man!

Took these five minutes ago. Hasn't snowed here since early morning and where the sun has struck it has thawed a bit.
Chapel opposite, taken from Bedroom Window

Mountain summit and house next to chapel opposite, taken from Bedroom Window

Back Gate into lane, taken from Minimus' bedroom window

Back Garden, taken from Minimus' bedroom window

Roof of bungalow across lane and fields behind, taken from Minimus' bedroom window

Across the fields at the back, that grey, cold looking stuff in the distance is the Irish Sea, taken from Minimus' bedroom window

Taken from Landing Window just to wave the willy about having real leaded light windows and we are indeed half way up a mountain.

I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

A  likely story Snoopy I rather suspect that last picture was taken from the barred kennel that you live in.

DS that 'here' is south Yorkshire or for us older folks the West Riding of Yorkshire.

I haven't seen a bus around here since this morning.
Mrs Tel walked from tran station, just as well.

Having been married to my ex for 21 years (less some 3 years spent apart of course) I can speak and understand South Yorkshire folk. I claim to be fluent in Sheffield-ish ~ after all you can't live with 'em without picking up the lingo.

Boo-its = Boots (or shoes)
Mend t'fire = Put some logs/coal on the fire
Nesh = Thin blooded (cold)
Tha' needs t'change thee butcher = Eat better meat and you'll not feel so cold
Mardy = Miserable/moody
Mardy Arsed = In a bad mood
And so on.

Mind ~ they do lay it on a bit thick if you are a "Southerner"... just to confuse you like.

I know what you mean.

Another annoying habit is of talking about you when you are there ~ like you were invisible.

ALSO .. They have no sense of humour, they think you are taking the p*ss all the time.

I got thrown out of a pub once because I asked if I could have a full pint and not three quarters of a pint of bitter and a lot of froth.

And herself? = "It's thee owen bloooody fault, comin' ooop 'ere with yer fancy Southern talk".

Another time we went, wi' brother's int' law and father int' law to a Sheffield centre boozer. I was driving so asked for "Just a half please"

Barmaid "Tha wot?"

Me "A half of bitter please"

Barmaid "Wot's tha' then?"

Me (indicating BiLs and FiL)"About half what these three are holding"

Barmaid "Tha means a 'GLASS' lad"

Me "I don't give a fook if it comes in a jam jar, just give me a half pint"

Bar Manager "Gerrout ~ We don't want no Southern nancies in 'ere"

Hate the fooking place and the fooking people.
They love acting like cartoon Yorkshiremen ~ it's an industry.

 ;D Went to the local hostelry the other day and asked if they had any Pinot Grigio.  The barmaid looked puzzled.  They have either red wine or white wine and it comes in the one glass bottles. noooo: sick2:
