'Tis over 40 years since I was in Gloucester ~ is that "Greasy Spoon" still there, on the bypass, next to the Iron Bridge? Used to do excellent bacon sarnies and hooooge mugs of tea.

Umm never quite got the hang of Gloucester.  Cathedral is great some of the quay buildings are interesting however, the city is far too close to the forest of Dean for my liking. char062

I'm trying to think where you might mean...Can't think of anything on the by-pass now, but can't think of anything 40 years ago either. There used be a caff at the bottom of Westgate Street, by Westgate Bridge, but that went yonks ago.

Not many greasy spoons in the day near the city, but there are a few kebab vans about at night... redface:

The Forest of Dean is a great place  cussing: There are some beautiful places and fantastic walks. Symonds Yat is priceless...

Pirate @indeed but the folks that live there have wooden teeth. Great place to visit as long as on hearing a banjo duet one can make a rapid exit.  symonds Yat is good too once took a very loopy labradore of mine there once who to my horror launched herself of a very steep and high rock formation not ralising the drop. To my surprise she survived although did limp for a few days after. noooo:

Generally murky today but as I was walking the dog (not a euphemism) a short while ago, the clouds cleared and sunlight caught the snow-capped peaks... quite, quite beautiful...  cloud9:
