The word must have changed its meaning since I was a lad.

Is it/was it the same as thrapping? (sp) My children have used the word twat to refer to a tosser and I the word twatting would mean that someone had been given a clip round the ear or slap on the head as in  ' I gave her a good twatting'. noooo:  An evolving language as ever.
