Thu to Sun - Cold at the start of the period with temperatures generally significantly below average. Dry weather at first, but showers are possible as well. These are likely to fall as snow, even at lower levels. Widespread frosts likely, with a risk of ice and freezing fog in places.
Less cold air will try to spread in from the southwest from the middle of the month. This may bring outbreaks of rain, and potentially some persistent snowfall where this rain meets the cold air.

But given that at 1300hr's they said it as going to freeze in some areas down here but at 1815hr's they said it wouldn't, it's anybody's guess. They can't get it right five hours in advance, let alone one week in advance
