Drizzly and grey at Gatwick earlier, now just grey.

And a bit chilly as the boiler has packed up  cussing:

Now, do I fit a new fan myself?  rubschin:

In a word - No!

You may not be touching the gas (or the piping thereof) but you will be meddling with a gas appliance.

If it all ends up going BANG! You'd be in such deep shit you'd need an aqualung to escape.

Not worth it - get a man in!
"Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Well, someone had to say it!

Too late  ;D

I think "the rules" only apply if you are being paid for doing the work. I shall only pay myself in beer and a nice hot shower now that it is working again.

I took the fan out (4 screws, one jubilee clip and 2 electrical connectors) and spun it by hand - it was definitely "notchy". I cleaned it all up and smeared a bit of graphite grease to the motor spindle where I could access it and voila! It now spins nice and freely. I checked the tubes to the air pressure sensor and they blew them all clean.

Put it all back together again - the screws are now tight as they were a little on the loose side - fired it up and it's working fine  Thumbs:
