I suspect it is The Little White Lion.

Maybe Guildford should be stepped on - nowhere near as nice a place as it used to be.

Cobham has been invaded by Chelsea - a training complex and loads of the players live there now - much money spent there.

Cobham is unfortunately infested with famous soccerists. Dorking has nice parts to it. I was round that way on Saturday - after getting my hair cut, I decided to go to Ryka's for breakfast. Lovely.

Guildford, meh, take it or leave it, always filled with students. Dorking is lovely. They have a really good quilt shop so I am there every couple of months or so. Mr Wench agrees to go if I buy him breakfast/lunch somewhere.

Is Ryka's good?

There used to be a nice Little Chef type place as you approached Dorking from Reigate, opposite the cemetery.
Used to have brekkers there before fishing.

Also on the same road is The Watermill, lovely view of the Downs and the food used to be good, and no kids after 6 ;D

Ryka's is good Wenchy, but there again I love motorbikes, so a decent full breakfast whilst gazing at lovely machinery and picking out my horse racing bets for the day is a heavenly way to start Saturday. Full brekkie £4.75. Good strong tea, too

The Little Thief is still there Tel!

Watermill is OK but chain-pub food, so not the best. Mrs TMR (to be) had a beetle type thing in her salad last time we were there. Not sure if she ate any before finding that one.

For top nosh round there, go to The Running Horses in Mickleham - gets very busy at lunchtime, so get there early. Nice pint of Pride, too.

There are some nice pubs in the area. Coming down from Box Hill go straight across towards Betchworth and just wander around. Seem to remember there is a Youngs pub around there somewhere - Dolphin maybe?

Half the pubs around there I've never been able to find again!

Finding a beetle type thing in a salad is rather like finding a worm in an apple. Better to find a whole one than a half.

Oh and after a sunny couple of hours it is now cloudy again. Mrs S#2 fears for her washing. I am instructed to "Keep an eye" whilst she is out working this afternoon.

Yup - the Dolphin, I was in it two Sunday's ago and now, thankfully, it doesn't close at 3 o clock. There's a Dukes Head in Brockham that I may investigate this Sunday - not Young's though.

Spooky Tel!

And it's still not raining outside, although it is raining Guinness down my throat.
