I am really looking forward to this now  evil:

OH is playing to his usual gallery ~ take no notice. We have been to similar in Holland on several occasions. Like all things you get what you pay for and enjoy it if you are prepared to. If you go determined to find fault then you will. I have stayed at the Dorchester and frankly found it wanting.
What did it want...?  rubschin:

True, Snoops, but I dare say the ones in Holland are considerably better than the ones over here.

And I believe it was you who wondered whether he is turning into Golden Virginia.  point:

Personally, never been to one, but my brother has and thoroughly enjoyed it. And he's a right fussy bastard.

I've been there loads of times; the one in Norfolk and the one in the west country. The circumstances were somewhat different ~ it was in the early days and I worked with a company promoting them. In their low season we used to get £50 deals for the weekend and one of the exec villas. Take all your own food, the onsite shop will be pricey and limited in its range. Enjoy the water slides, take push bikes if you can rather than rent them. Relax in the forest with a good book when the boy's been put to bed.  ;D

The coffee was crap, the breakfast poorly presented, not hot and the eggs were undercooked (whilst I like "sunny side up" I do not like "snotty" fried eggs). At dinner I returned my steak twice as, although I like it rare, I do like it hot and not frozen in the middle. The bath was dirty and they failed to provide the booked early call.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

Be fair the the Dorchester though - if a cantankerous canine orders steak, no wonder they left it raw. Same with the eggs. I certainly don't remember my Beagle turning his nose up at raw eggs or frosty steak. And how on earth is a quarrelsome quadruped meant to define good or bad coffee?

Same goes for the dirty bath - they thought he would be used to it.

These hounds are getting above themselves these days...

And as for the early morning call...doubtless you were cocking your leg at the side of the bed when they called...

They normally leave a mint chocolate on the pillow - did thet leave you a mint Bonio?

Sorry - I'm in a silly mood and a bit de-mob happy.

My grandfather (mothers side) was a Doorman at the Dorchester in his dotage. He was a right miserable so-and-so. Probably had the eggs...
